We were unable to view several of the Indianapolis Star entries. We tried on a number of browsers but they just wouldn’t work.

We are big fans of audio slideshows but none of those entered this month made the cut. They were either too long, didn’t follow a narrative path, had quality issues or were just plain uninteresting. It was a video sweep and it appears to be a one organization sweep! Here’s the rundown:

1st Poetry Slam

Sophisticated framing and razor sharp editing made this a favorite with the judges. It ran a little longer than we like but the narrative was clean.

2nd Dodgeball

Again, the editing is really tight. The visuals weren’t quite as crisp as first place and the story stalled at the end.

3rd Super Sunday

A fun way to cover the Super Bowl without covering the Super Bowl. Compelling moments sprinkled throughout but the editor probably should have stopped after the parking lot celebration. The last two situations seemed a little tacked-on.
