Judges Comments:
The immediate thought when looking at this is “fun.” Using different levels makes this visually interesting.

Judges Comments:
It looks like it is part of a photo story but you can look at this one photo and make your own story. It’s a good moment and good composition.

Judges Comments:
In a general news category, this has an element of humor to it that was completely unexpected. Some of the photos in this category seemed to belong in the feature category.

Judges Comments:
This shows initiative on the photographer’s part. They stayed afterward to wait for an interesting composition was a very smart move.

Judges Comments:
The photo of the woman and the horses were what set this story apart from the rest of the entries.

Judges Comments:
The photos in this story were toned really flat. Would like to have seen more contrast. And everyone really likes to convert their entries to black and white, why is that?

Judges Comments:
Good coverage from an interesting event.

Judges Comments:
We’ve seen way to many shots of people spraying water in their face, but never when they have been this muddy. A really interesting photo and a really clean photo.

A nice moment after a very muddy game. We have complete sympathy for the photographer trying to keep their gear clean in this situation!

Judges Comments:
Keeping your eye on things happening away from the field is always a good idea and in this case, it paid off.
