2010 INPA Multi Media Contest Winners

The Indiana News Photographers held judging for their 2010 Multi-Media contest on the campus of Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., Jan. 29, 2011.

Tractor Tradition
Not only are old time tractors nostalgic and just plain fun; they are an integral part of Indiana history and a State Fair tradition.

    Hoosier Veterans: Faces of War captures the full sweep of military service from the call of duty, to life in combat, to returning home to Indiana — narrated entirely by the veterans themselves.
  2. Faces of our Future 1:42
    Indianapolis Children answer the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” for the series Our Children Our City.
  3. Learning Burlesque 2:12
    Renowned performer and teacher Michelle L’amour gives a Burlesque workshop in Indianapolis.
  4. Super Bowl Fans 2:15
    Fans enjoy the festivities along South Beach in Miami, Florida leading up to Super Bowl XLI against the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints.
  5. Freetown Elementary 2:50
    Due to budget cuts the students and staff were unsure of the fate of their award winning school.
  6. Egg Drop 1:04
    Students at Col. John Wheeler Middle School enlisted the help of the Crown Point Fire Department to see if their egg-protection devices would save the egg from a 50 foot drop.

  8. Indiana State Fair Year of the Pig 2:12
    At the Indiana State Fair, the animals aren’t the only ones living high on the hog as the state fair commission named 2010 as Year of the Pig as themes are commonly given out for each new year.
  9. Return of the Gators 1:52
    33 American Alligators returned to Zao Island May 20, 2010 in Valparaiso, Ind. After taking last year off because of the cooler weather, the Alligators returned to a newly remodeled exhibit area for the season.

    About 50 tubas, sousaphones and euphoniums players participated in the first TubaChristmas at the Chapel of the Resurrection at Valparaiso University Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, in Valparaiso, Ind.
