Judges Comments:
A very sensitive emotional-connecting moment between person and bovine. We liked the intimacy of this frame.

Judges Comments:
We loved the unique seeing, humorous moment and strong graphical quality. Nice summer feature we’d all be happy with from a general assignment. One judge likes the fact there are seven legs adding additional humor to the frame.

Judges Comments:
We love the fish! So many good questions are asked here, in the good sense. Why a fish? Why a helmet? Why a tiara? So quirky and fun.

Judges Comments:
Very story-telling frame. We loved the bond and “band of brothers” emotional quality to the frame. Nice shooting from a funeral event (we know they sometimes can be hard to make unique).

Way to make a chicken sandwich out of you know what. We loved the contrasting expressions and passion from the man. Good shooting.

Nice behind the scenes moment. We feel the exhale from the contestant. Good cutline to follow up with the results, it added to the judging of the frame.

Judges Comments:
A nice news photo. A well-composed graphical photo. Some emotional quality would have helped place this photo.

Judges Comments:
A unique subject we have not seen before. A well-told essay on people passionate about weather and documentation. A couple could have been left out but overall had the most depth and dedication to story-telling.

Judges Comments:
We’ve seen this subject done many times. However, it was well-executed and had some nice surprises. And a nice tight edit to boot.

Judges Comments:
One of the best variety of images from this category. About three could have been excluded from the final edit and elevated it higher in the placing order. Nice feature package we’d all be happy to have shot.

Graphical and appealing. Good seeing and way to get the heads below the horizon line.
