Nice moment with layers working in the photo.

This is always a great feature find of capturing a moment silhouetted and the fisherman’s lure being sharp. Again layers in the foreground and background putting there on the pond.

This works great as well for a feature photo. Certainly something you don’t see everyday. Excellent choice of framing the Sichuan under the mother.

For an unfortunate situation. Great job by the photographer to find the deputy in tears.

A striking silhouette of the deputies walking past the flag. Giving it contrast between the two.

This picture story is really strong and visually compelling. The photographer truly captured Mickey’s personality and her willingness to compete for the top prize as Miss Hoosier Heartland. The photographer was not afraid capturing intimate moments of those who love Mickey. Well done!

The photographer did a great job of seeking out and capturing moments, like the opening frame of the picture story. Most of the images in the essay stood out, and the photographer successfully avoided the trap of only using action shots from the court – there were storytelling reactions too.

This is photo essay is certainly great for the daily life at SIRS. Capturing everyday life with caregivers and their residents shows through the frames. I would continue to explore in finding a narrative with a caregiver and the resident.

The photo essay is good though I wish there were more moments capturing the Notre Dame fever and off the court moments. I really like the moments of team coming together of their success on the court and defeat while in the locker room.

A nice portrait of the woman. The window light word as well. Great choice to have it in black and white.

This is a nice photo being that it’s a detail. Though sometimes making a portrait shouldn’t have to be literal.

This is nice moment of the players battling for the ball. I only wish the photographer was eye level on the baseline to give more impact.

Capturing the impact of the wreck of what I believe is a truck is crazy.

I love the composition on this frame. The tow truck driver climbing on the side of the truck figuring out a way for removal is telling.

This image captures the accident without having to see the school bus. The look from the child’s face in the gray coat is chilling. One point of advice would be to crop tighter on the frame or using long glass to have more impact on the woman comforting the student.

A frame that I’ve never seen before of a fire water hose breaks away from firefighters. Capturing the water spraying wildly is nice.
