That is one happy bunny.

Great face. The background could be considered cluttered but the shallow depth of field makes it somewhat graphic.

Judges Comments:
The simplicity and symmetry of this image made it stand out.

It’s shot in a way that sets the scene and tells the story. A beautiful and peaceful moment amid chaos.

This was the most unique out of several pictures from this nationwide protest entered in this category.

Multiple_Entry 1st Place Cream of the Crop 60 Points
Photographer: Sarah Ann Jump/The Herald
Image:ma_sajj_01
Judges Comments:
By far the most comprehensive and in-depth entry. Great diversity of images and the access and trust from the subjects allowed for some really intimate photography.

Multiple_Entry 2nd Place 40 Points
Photographer: Jacob Wiegand, The Herald
Image:ma_jawj_01
Judges Comments:
The story a Mennonite family is a little tired, but these photographs still offer a glimpse into a lifestyle unfamiliar to many.

Multiple_Entry 3rd Place 30 Points
Photographer: DENNY SIMMONS / COURIER & PRESS
Image:ma_dlse_flood_01
Judges Comments:
This was a great series of pictorials and graphic images on the widespread flooding in southern Indiana. The package would have benefitted from a tighter edit, eliminating the photos not focused on pictorial presentation of flood scenes.

Multiple_Entry HM Place 10 Points
Photographer: Fran Ruchalski, The Pharos-Tribune
Image:mb_ferl_01
Judges Comments:
While the top three entries reflected more in-depth subject matter, this was still a great collection of images from what is obviously a popular local event.

Great example of a solid active environmental portrait where the subject is not staged and is in their element.

Tight crop and a great facial expression brought this one to the top. The glasses and suspenders are a bonus. Hopefully he didn’t blow an O-ring.

A different locker room photo than we’re used to. A nice, peaceful moment with interesting composition. Not a lot of photographers think to stick around and photograph the coach.

We like how much there is to look at across this photo, but thought it would have been more well suited as a sports action entry.
