Judges Comments:
This was a fairly weak category, but the first place photo had decent composition turning a fairly dull event into something interesting. Second place was a good construction photo. Third place left us wondering where the 20 other balloons were, but there was a bit of a moment.

There were a few pictures in this category that felt like they should have been entered in general news. First place had nice light and color. Second place was a good environmental. Third place wasn’t as strong but the light was decent.

Judges Comments:
Lots of strong football photos but the the two that caught our attention the most were nice tight crops of great moments. The golf photo had very a compelling expression.

This was a relatively strong category. The first place picture has great impact, but we wished the caption had more context. Second place was a decent situation. Third place was just a little different with the insulation covered firefighter.
