1st Place F-Feature  Heather Rousseau, The Herald  Caption: Ariana Leon, 4, left, watched as her sister chest-bumped their friend, Melissa Macias, 9, all of Huntingburg while hanging out in the sun to dry off after playing in the water with a hose in the Leon sisters' yard at 5th and Main on Sunday. The girls were surprised to hear the temperature was in the high 80's when Leon looked it up on her phone, they thought it felt much hotter outside. 1st Place GN-General_News  Heather Rousseau, The Herald  Caption: James Gagliardi was hugged by one of his daughters, Carol Stewart both of Santa Claus during his 100- year old birthday celebration at the Santa Claus American Legion on Thursday. Gagliardi was also accompanied by a Miller High Life beer that he drinks during his frequent visits to the legion. There is even a name-plaque at the bar where the stool he always sat at is. He can no longer sit at the bar, but still comes in for 1-2 beers almost everyday of the week. Indianapolis Fire Department workers rescued a dog named Adam that was stranded on a log jam in the middle of White River under the 16th Street bridge Sunday April 13, 2014. Dog owner George Adams reported that his son took the dog with him fishing when the dog became stranded. Fireman Dan Travis drove a boat to the dog and other firemen, Josh Finke and Scott Gates coaxed the dog, with the help of a snare into the boat and returned him to his owner.

The family has visited the lake to swim twice this year and plans to return several times.
